Water’s natural buoyancy gently supports joints to encourage free movement as you work against resistance in all directions and not just gravity. Water’s natural resistance (it’s almost 1,000 times denser than air) makes it faster to build aerobic endurance, flexibility, muscle tone, and lose weight than on land.

Warm water also raises your body temperature by causing blood vessels to dilate and increase circulation. This helps ease joint pain and improves flexibility. The use of heat is recommended for many people with arthritis and other conditions. Mild heat provides sufficient relief to enable range-of-motion and strengthening exercises.
